What is bartering?
Bartering is the oldest known way of doing commerce.
Generally, when you engage in bartering services, you promise to trade your
services or goods for the services or goods of the other, whom you are trading with.
Even though monetary value could be used to make the comparison for what you’ll be
receiving in opposition to what you’ll be giving, the exchange would still not involve money.

Who can barter?
Anyone can barter (business owner, professional or individual).
However this site is aimed at the individual person.
We created ListAndExchange.com to fill a
very real need for the individual, working person to find an easy way to barter.

Why would I want to barter?
It is an alternative way to trade and exchange goods and services without using money to do it. You need your leaky sink fixed but you have no idea how
to do it yourself. Do you really want to shell out hundreds of dollars for a plumber? You’ve got a knack
for gardening. Maybe there’s a plumber out there who’s willing to fix your sink if you create a killer garden.
Both tasks are no-brainers for each of you. But you both come out on top – without the big ticket
bills that come with the deal. It’s a win-win situation for everyone. And the sky’s the limit on
ListAndExchange.com. Why not barter tickets to the super bowl for a car? Or a boat for a new kitchen?
Anything and everything can be mixed and matched. The only limit is your imagination.

Can I barter outside of my local area?
This really depends on the item you want to barter. Some item can be exchanged only locally like services that can only be done phyically by the person offering the service. On the other hand some goods and services are not restricted by geography. Example: If a Graphic Designer in California seeks a Painter to repaint
their office, the parties must be located near to one another to barter. However,
the same Graphic Designer may be seeking original photography, can barter with a Photographer
anywhere.

Can I sell my items for cash?

What about tax laws?
ListAndExchange.com is a contact/matching service that allows people to find others that want
to barter. We have no involvement at all in the actual bartering process. The bartering
of goods amd services will take place off line on your own. You are
responsible for any possible tax implications around bartering. It’s no different than
if you and a friend decided to barter of your own accord.

What types of items can be bartered?
The answer may be surprising: real estate, timeshare week, cars, car leases, boats, coffee pots, clothing,
toys, jewelry, etc. That's not including the list of services one might find such as carpet cleaning,
reupholstering, personal chef, personal trainer, illustrator, photographer, or music lessons just to name a few.
Listing items on our barter site can help eliminate clutter in a crowded home or business,
